Kenyan Vice-President Arrives in Khartoum

The Kenyan Vice – President, William Ruto, Monday afternoon arrived in Khartoum on a three-day visit.
He was received at Khartoum Airport by the First Vice – President of the Republic and Prime Minister, Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, and a number of ministers.
In a press statement, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Abdalla Idris, said that the Kenyan Vice – President’s visit comes in the context of the distinguished relations between Sudan and Kenya, indicating that the Sudanese and Kenyan sides will hold a session of talks at the Republican Palace.
He said that the Kenyan Vice – President will visit on Tuesday a number of major institutions and development projects.
He indicated that the Kenyan Vice – President will meet during the visit with the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, and a number of senior officials.
Ambassador Idris pointed out that the talks between the Sudanese and Kenyan sides will include the political, cultural, trade and investment relations and the cooperation between the two countries at the regional and international forums.
He referred to the big number of Kenyan students who are studying in Sudan, hoping that the visit of the Kenyan Vice – President will be conducive to strengthening further the bilateral relations and cooperation between Khartoum and Nairobi.
