First Vice-President Receives German Envoy

The First Vice – President of the Republic and National Prime Minister, Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, Sunday received at the Council of Ministers the visiting envoy and Director of the African Department at the German Foreign Minister, in presence of the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hamid Mumtaz.
In a press statement, Mumtaz said that the meeting has discussed the issues of peace and economic cooperation between Sudan and Germany after the lifting of the American sanctions on Sudan.
He indicated that the First Vice – President has appreciated the role of Germany in supporting peace in Sudan.
Mumtaz said that the First Vice – President has affirmed the keenness of Khartoum to establish strong relations with Berlin in the political, economic and diplomatic fields.
The German envoy has expressed his country’s welcome to the decision lifting the economic sanctions on Sudan, indicating that this step will contribute to enhancing the economic relations between Sudan and Germany.
